The NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Practice is a Degree Level qualification. The development was a consultative process with the awarding and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health to ensure it meets the demanding standards of the industry sector.

You Cannot Fail an NVQ

You cannot fail an NVQ, you are either competent or not yet competent. Unlike with academic qualifications there are no exams to fail and re-sit.

 

No Examinations

You can complete a degree level qualification without having to sit an exam. NVQ level 6 is equal to a Bachelor’s Degree on the UK qualification framework and it is based on evidence you produce of your day to day employment.

The NVQ Level 6 is accepted globally as a professional health and safety qualification for Health & Safety Managers and Supervisors.

A natural progression from the NEBOSH National or International General Certificate Course, to progress your professional development.

 

IOSH Membership

The NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety meeting the requirement for Graduate Membership (CertIOSH) leading to Chartered Membership (CMIOSH).

The course is competence based and learners will need to demonstrate that they meet the course criteria by way of submitting corroborated evidence. Learners’ competency will be assessed by EduSkills NVQ Assessors.

The assessment is based on evidence uploaded, statements provided and professional discussions.

 

COURSE DURATION

Approximately 532 hours’ time dedication is required to be completed over a two year. On an average candidates complete this NVQ in 5 – 7 months.

 

STUDY METHOD

Whilst completing your day to day role you will be generating evidence which can be submitted to your online portfolio and build competency proof. It’s this competency proof that will ultimately be assessed earning you the Level 6 qualification.

 

STUDY SYLLABUS

There are 10 mandatory units which MUST be completed; Topics include Health & Safety Culture, Health & Safety Policy Implementation, Communication System for Health & Safety Information, Health & Safety Risk Assessment System, Health & Safety Emergency Response System and Health & Safety Practice.

 

NVQ TRAINING SUPPORT

Our NVQ 6 assessment team are there to guide you and assist you in gathering, sorting and referencing your evidence. Guidance and support is included with this course.

 

EXAMINATIONS

There are NO examinations with NVQ qualifications, it’s your submitted evidence that is assessed and it’s this evidence that ultimately gains you a competent or not yet competent status. Should you not achieve the required competent grade required to pass your assessor will advise on where changes and additional evidence needs to be submitted to increase the grade.

NVQ assessors guide you as you submit your evidence.

You will be assigned a designated NVQ tutor/ assessor with E-portfolio platform.

 

Our internal verifier checks over your submitted evidence.

Assigned Assessor will monitor your progress throughout your learning in assigned E-portfolio. They will provide you with an induction, and they will assess your completed assignments , work related Evidences and provide you feedback, and will respond to your questions and queries when necessary.

 

Your evidence is sent to ProQual to be externally verified.

ProQual External verifier will also check all submitted Assignments and Evidences for Quality and Compliance assurance.

 

Certificate Delivery

Finally once your work has been checked and passed, you’ll receive a certificate as proof you have passed the NVQ level 6 course in occupational health and safety practice. We will arrange for your certificate to be posted to you at an address of your choosing.
