The aim of this NVQ Level 7 diploma is to provide senior management employees involved in the strategic management of the organization the skills and confidence to make those decisions that effect change in the business.
The Level 7 Diploma in strategic health and safety leadership and management is a high-level, globally recognized qualification which is completely evaluated by each candidates’ competency. Evidence of competency is based on real world, on-the-job activities within your current role, this means that you can use previously created documentation as part of your portfolio.

- Who is this NVQ for?The NVQ L7 Diploma in strategic management is designed to be taken by those in a senior management role and who are involved with the organization’s occupational health and safety strategic planning.The course is aimed at those who wish to enhance and expand their skills and be qualified competent in the following areas, learners will:

What level is this NVQ qualification?
This NVQ is equivalent to a Master’s degree.
As the name suggests this qualification meets the criteria set out by the UK’s national qualifications framework (NQF) to be a level 7 qualification which is parallel to a level 11 on the Scottish credit and qualifications framework (SCQF)

You Cannot Fail an NVQ
Unlike academic qualifications an NVQ doesn’t require you to sit any exams, therefore there are no examinations to fail.
How is this NVQ Assessed?
The course is competence based and learners will need to demonstrate that they meet the course criteria by way of submitting corroborated evidence. Learners’ competency will be assessed by Eduskills NVQ assessors. The assessment is based on evidence uploaded, statements provided and professional discussions.
AWARDING BODY
- ProQual – Recognized and Approved by Ofqual as a level 7 qualification (equivalent to Master’s Degree)
RECOMMENDED FOR
- Managers that have responsibility for developing and applying health and safety at a senior level and those that are looking to expand their expertise and skills
COURSE DURATION
- Approximately 500 hours’ time dedication is required to be completed over a two year On average candidates complete this NVQ in 10 – 12 months
STUDY METHOD
- Whilst completing your day to day role you will be generating evidence which can be submitted to your online portfolio and build competency proof. It’s this competency proof that will ultimately be assessed earning you the Level 7 qualification.
STUDY SYLLABUS
- There are 5 mandatory unitswhich MUST be completed, Topics include incident investigation, Business risk management process and Risk based safety systems management.
NVQ TRAINING SUPPORT
- Our NVQ 7 assessment team are there to guide you and assist you in gathering, sorting and referencing your evidence. Guidance and support is included with this course.
EXAMINATIONS
- There are NO examinationswith NVQ qualifications, it’s your submitted evidence that is assessed and it’s this evidence that ultimately gains you a competent or not yet competent status. Should you not achieve the required competent grade required to pass your assessor will advise on where changes and additional evidence needs to be submitted to increase the grade.
